I hope 2025 is starting off peaceful for you. Bear Magic Workshops has been very busy with bookings both privately and at New York City public schools.
On January 4th we conducted a workshop at a doctor’s office in Queens. All the kids dressed up as doctors and had their medical kits ready to perform an operation.
Two Pediatric Doctors spoke to the kids about not being afraid to go to the doctor and getting shots (needles is the #1 fear of not wanting to go to the doctor's office.)
Getting over the fear of needles does take time and the doctors suggested that they bring their Teddy Animals that they stuffed along; to help keep them company while visiting the doctor's office.
I read a book "Leo goes to the Doctor" and we hand stuffed Teddy Animals afterwards.
It was a cute Saturday afternoon and Ms. Latoya the parent, is the one who came up with the idea.
Moms and their children enjoyed Saturday afternoon with gratitude.
